The Carroll County Education Association (CCEA) is offering a 1-time scholarship in the amount of $1000 to a graduating senior pursuing a career in Education.
This scholarship will be awarded to a June 2021 graduate (male or female). The Scholarship winner will be a student attending Carroll County Public School and / or be a relative of an active CCEA member or retired CCEA member. The scholarship will be awarded regardless of race, color, gender, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital or parental status, or disability.
The awarding of this scholarship will be based on financial need, academic standing, attendance record, disciplinary record, leadership experiences and motivation to pursue a career in education.
When filling out this application, students should:
- Clearly type all information required.
- Include a 500-750-word typed essay (Why have you applied for this scholarship? What unique qualities do you possess to be awarded this scholarship?).
- Include with this application current/updated school transcript, GPA, SAT scores and any other pertinent information regarding your academic standing.
- Sealed letter of recommendation from a teacher who can speak of your desire to enter into an education-related field.
The scholarship selection committee will be comprised of the chair of the CCEA Scholarship Committee as well as several other CCEA members. The scholarship winner will be awarded the $1000 after completion of 1 semester of study. Proof of completion of study will be required in the form of college transcript. The scholarship winner may be able to pick up their award at the CCEA office.
